Inspiration, Trusting God

In The Stillness He Is There

Even with the busyness of life we just have to take time to stop and be still before the Lord. When we take time out to quietly sit still in His presence, it reminds us that He is the One who can handle all of our worries. Just being still, gives us the opportunity to exhale and enter into the peace that the Holy Spirit desires to give to us.

Psalm 46:10(NIV), “…Be still, and know that I am God…”

When stress tries to consume us, we just need to be still. Our God is able to carry every burden we have. He will strengthen us and keep us safely in His care. There is no trial that is too great for Him. As we sit quietly before God, we experience the comfort of His presence. We can sense that His love is surrounding us, and living inside of us through the Holy Spirit. As we are still before the Lord, He will bring healing to our minds and hearts.

Don’t be afraid to be still. It is in taking time to be still, that we come to know and understand that He is God.

  1. Gorgeous picture!
It’s funny because I’m going through a trial right now and being still, praying with my husband has helped me. But I don’t feel God’s peace. He has a plan and I suspect I’m out of sync with it. Pray for me and I will pray for you too.

    1. Thank you for your prayers. I appreciate it. I will be praying for you that God will give you direction and peace. It can be tough to sense His peace when we’re really worried. Keep trusting Him, things will work out for your good. Glad your husband is by your side to help you ❤️

  2. Dawn, what a great post! Being still is something that is so challenging for me! Even when I plan time to be still, read my Bible or pray my mind constantly wonders. But I keep trying, I know I’ll get better at it. A verse that I’ve been dwelling on lately is Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still”. It reminds me that He is bigger than anything I can face and He can handle anything.

    1. That’s a great verse! He really does fight for us. Life is pretty busy so it can be hard to take time out with God. Also because of the busyness we are tired a lot. I think you made a great point when you said you’ll keep trying. Spending time with God takes discipline so like you said we will get better if we keep trying.

I like spending time with God on my lunch hour too because sometimes mornings don’t work out for me. Do you have a specific time of day or various times?

      1. Yes, I am tired! I love spending time with Him first thing in the morning, but I don’t always get to. Lunchtime is a great idea, because by the time the kids get in bed and I can actually sit down, I’m worn out and then I can’t truly focus on what I’m reading, or prayer. Thanks so much for the advice!

      2. You’re welcome! I know you must be tired especially having the kids! My daughter is about to graduate college but I just get tired from the long work hours. But God honors you for taking care of your family and He understands the season of your life that you are in. Since you have a heart that wants to spend time with Him, He’ll direct your paths and show you what is best for you. I’ll pray for you! 🌸☀️💕
