Have a Thankful Heart

Colossians 4:2 NLT, “Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.”

When I read this verse, it reminds me that through daily devotion to prayer, we can remain alert and thankful. Prayer has many benefits, and positions us to receive blessings from the Lord. Just being in His presence and taking time to quietly listen as He speaks to our hearts, is one of the greatest blessings we could ever receive. Reflecting on all God has done, causes our hearts to overflow with thanksgiving and joy. He is so good to us.

As I celebrate Thanksgiving this week, I am thankful for your faithful support of this blog. You mean a lot to me. May God bless you and your families. For those celebrating, I pray you have a Happy Thanksgiving on Thursday. 🍁❤️

  2. Devotion to prayer, with an attitude of thanksgiving, is something I need more of in my life, Dawn. Thank you for sharing this scripture verse and the beautiful fall photo! I enjoy reading your posts. Why? Because they are biblical, make one good point, and don’t go on forever. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.

  6. Praise the Lord, we have so much to thank the Lord for. He has been so good to us. I pray that you will have a blessed 🙌 Thanksgiving with your friends and family. I hope your daughter will be able to be with you to celebrate with you. 🙌

    1. He has been good! Countless blessings that He has given to us. Thanks for the prayers. She went back to Spain in September. Will your son and daughter be home?

      2. I understand, and during the holidays the plane ticket prices are even higher. I’m glad you got to see your daughter though. It ended up being just me and my mom but we had a peaceful day and a nice dinner. 🤗

      3. Great. I am glad you had a wonderful time. I am sure your daughter had a wonderful time just sharing with you virtually. I was planning a virtual celebration with my son but then he whatsapp me to let me know that one of his friends’ invited him to his family Thanksgiving with his grandma. It was a small gathering and he enjoyed himself. I was happy for him because he likes to be around family and friends during those special times. Have a blessed 🙌 day.
