Saved By Grace

Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT, “8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

Saved by His grace! There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation. It is a free gift that has been given to us by God through Jesus Christ. It can be difficult for our human minds to comprehend the idea of something so precious being free. However, our debt has been paid, and all we have to do to receive it, is confess and believe (Romans 10:9).

There have been many times in my life that I have struggled to forgive myself for my sins. I go back and forth with myself, wondering how I could have failed so miserably. But Jesus paid our debts in full. No amount of guilt, shame, or unforgiveness against ourselves will take away our sins. Only His blood can wash away our sins.

Just receive what Jesus has freely given. It’s feels good to know that long before we even existed, God had good things planned for us. He has always had us on His mind and in His heart. He desires for us to live an abundant life filled with His goodness and mercy.

  1. I would say things to myself like, “I can’t believe you did that, what the hell is wrong with you!?!When we can’t forgive ourselves, we relive what we’ve done over and over again in our minds, we let our decisions affect us and feel paralyzed by our past. We must reconsider how we are handling and viewing ourselves and see ourselves how God see us. #savedbygrace

      1. I saw a meme that stated, “if you don’t let the past die, it won’t let you live.” There are no lies told in this statement. I am currently in a season learning that right now.

  2. Amen 🙏🏿. I actually shared a devotional on my other blog about “You Are Forgiven”. Indeed, we are saved by grace. We don’t have to work for it. It was all God and His uncontainable love and grace. Jesus died for you and I. He took the nails for all Humanity. What a gift we have to know our Precious Lord and Savior!

This resonate in my heart. So many times we beat up ourselves for past mistakes. How foolish of us! Thank you. I shared on my Facebook. The world needs to hear this.

  4. Hello Dawn,
this is a very beautifully inspired blog. My reminder to myself about sin, is that as God is the center of forgiveness and peace, – Satan is not. Satan wants us to be miserable like unto Him. So we must recognize as we struggle to forgive our past-selves, in not fully being healed yet, it almost leaves an open wound so to speak which allows the adversary to attack and find a spot to dwell, which that throbbing dwell is guilt, shame and doubt. Something that we know comes not from God.

Thank you again for sharing and allowing me to comment.
