Weeping Won’t Last

Psalm 30:5 NLT, “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

First, God’s anger is contrasted with His favor; then weeping is contrasted with joy. They both bring to mind God’s deep love for us. He doesn’t allow anger to come between Him and His love for His children. He still shows us His love and favor, even when we fall short.

The weeping we sometimes experience in this life is overcome with the joy of knowing God loves us and is watching over us, through our ups and downs. This verse also challenges us to make sure that we do not let anger cause us to mistreat others. We should let the love of God be our guide in the way we speak and act. May you find joy today in knowing God loves you deeply and unconditionally.

Trust God With Your Doors

Sometimes in life God allows doors to close. Depending on the situation, closed doors can be a disappointment, especially when we were expecting things to turn out differently. However, we should not be so eager to rush and try to find another door to open.

Instead, when a door closes, we should use that time to think, pray and continue to be thankful for God’s many blessings. God may use the experience to teach us a valuable lesson, show us a new direction for our lives, or to help us to better understand His character.

When He is ready, He will open up a new door for us to walk through, and we will be equipped to handle whatever is behind that door. But in the meantime, remember He is with you right where you are today.

Go Ahead And Believe!

Matthew 19:26, “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

I believe this is one of those great verses we often hear but at times struggle to apply it to our lives. It can be difficult to muster up the faith to believe God can and will do the impossible. Everyday He calls us to believe and walk courageously by faith, even when something seems impossible. God is calling us to not put limits on what He wants to do in us and in our lives. With Him, all things are possible. So go ahead and believe!

Choose The Blessed Road

2 Thessalonians 3:13 NIV, “But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good.”

I always appreciate any encouragement I can get to not grow weary in doing good. After all, the world we live in today gives us many opportunities to turn away from doing good and choose an “easier” path. But God is with us every moment of our lives, and is willing to help us to choose good. He is our ever present help in time of need (Psalm 46:1). The road of commitment to Jesus is not always easy, but it is always blessed. So keep choosing the blessed road.

Living by Faith & 5 Years!

2 Corinthians 5:7, “For we live by faith, not by sight.”

A life of faith will allow us to experience the adventures God created us for. It requires us to let go of our idea of safety and security and trust God. When we step out and obey God, He will not fail us and will give us all we need to live by faith. We can not go by what we see; God’s plans are bigger than anything we can see or even imagine. We must believe that He will do what He said He will do. We live by faith, one step at a time.
