New Blogs I’m Enjoying!

Over the last several weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with a few new bloggers. Their posts (and our exchange of comments) have been such a blessing to me. I recommend that you visit their blogs, and support them on their blogging journey. I know you too will be blessed as I have been. God is truly using them for His glory. ❤️😊❤️

✝️ Dante @ Putting God First Ministry – Dante blogs about how trusting Jesus has changed his life, and has helped him to overcome his substance abuse addiction. It’s an inspiration to read about how God is working all things together for good in his life. Keep serving God and, Don’t Believe The Hype.

✝️ Brenda @ Beauty For Ashes – Brenda’s blog inspires us to go deeper in our relationship with Jesus and grow in our faith. She reminds us that in Him all things are made new, and that His plans for us are perfect. No matter what, He Remains.

✝️ Kim @ Beyond My Limitations – Kim blogs about how her faith in Jesus helps her to live in victory even though she has a physical disability. Regardless of any challenges we face, she encourages us to have, The Mind Of A Champion.

About the Blogger Recognition Award

The Blogger Recognition Award is an award given in recognition of all the hard work that goes into creating a blog. It is a way for bloggers to support, motivate and promote other bloggers who have clearly put in huge amounts of time and effort, and produced valuable content.

Bloggers are very talented people – they work hard, they promote, market, advertise, run a busy site.

They organise all kinds of activities, they encourage, motivate, interact, engage and are community orientated. It matters not if they are shy and reticent or loud and personable – each actively progressive blogger is the same – they all work hard and passionately with their blogs, they put the hours in to deliver to their audience each day a welcoming location to read, absorb, learn and have fun.

To escape the hustle bustles of city life, or the begrudgeries of boredom – they entice readers to peruse their pages to look for entertainment.

That is what the BRA celebrates.

HOW I STARTED MY BLOG

I started my blog in 2017, but didn’t start blogging consistently until 2018. I have liked writing for along time and would send out weekly inspirational emails to a small group of family and friends. The emails were entitled, “Drawing Closer to Christ”, so that was when my writing of devotionals truly begin.

TWO PIECE OF ADVICE TO NEW BLOGGERS

✍️ Be consistent. Whatever schedule you decide upon, be sure to stick with it. Rather it’s twice a month or twice a week. I started off blogging once a month, then once a week, then twice a week, then daily. But now I give myself a break usually one day a week for now.

✍️ Be Yourself. Years ago, I saw a quote that said, “Be yourself. Who else is better qualified?”-by Frank J Giblin II

I think that’s part of the beauty of blogging, having the privilege to be yourself and allow who you are and what’s most important to you to shine through your posts. ☀️

The Thorn In Our Flesh

I, like most people, have wondered what Paul’s thorn in the flesh was. There are many speculations, but we don’t know for sure. He did say that this “thorn” helped him to stay humble. It kept him from thinking too highly of himself.

2 Corinthians 12:7 NIV, “or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.”

I know for me, there is always something that I struggle with at different times in my walk with God. Even if I think I’ve gotten pretty good in one area, then something else will pop up that I need to work on. God is always stretching us. He wants us to be a reflection of His Son. He desires for us to have an impact on those who are around us.

We are constantly in need of God’s grace and power to be effective. Our “thorns” will keep us sensitive to the fact that without the power of the Holy Spirit, we are nothing. It’s Him who causes our efforts, gifts, and talents to touch the lives of others. It’s Him who gives us the ability to follow Jesus.

Give your thorns to God in prayer and trust Him to use your weaknesses for His glory.
