Through It All

I was sitting at my desk working the other day, and I suddenly felt overwhelmed with thankfulness for how the Lord sustains us through life’s ups and downs.

It has been a rough year for me, losing my mom, as well as dealing with other issues of life that have surfaced, but I find great joy in looking back and seeing how the Lord has kept me. I am sure you too can look back over your life, and see how the Lord gave you the strength to navigate tough terrain.

Matthew 6:11 KJV, “Give us this day our daily bread.”

Every single day, God gives us our daily bread so we can persevere. People and situations can change, but the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, remains the same.

I hope you find strength, peace and comfort in that truth. And I pray that if you are going through a struggle, God’s kindness and mercy would meet you where you are today, fill your heart with joy, and supply your needs. Through it all, keep looking up to Jesus and trust Him to sustain you.

  1. I am right there with you. This has also been a very hard year for me, but like you, God has been with me. It has been almost a year since I lost my dad to ALS.
In the last three months, I have gone to seven services for close friends and family members. I am in my early 70s so it’s only natural that I will frequently be losing more friends and family quite often. However, that doesn’t make it easier. But God has opened my eyes to let me see how very precious and fleeting this life is. He has given me a deep desire to try and make the most of every single day and to try to show others, God’s mercy, grace, and love.

    1. Thank you Sheryl for sharing. I am sorry to hear about your Dad and your other family and friends you have lost. It’s interesting how losing close loved ones, does open our eyes to see how precious life is, like you mentioned. My mom was 77, and out of her 8 siblings, now only my aunt remains and she is in her early 90’s. She thought my mom would out live her. You’re right, we must make each day count! May God continue to give you His peace and comfort. ❤️

    1. You’re welcome, Bridget. Yes, we do have so much to be grateful for. When we realize that, it makes life easier. I really enjoyed your book that encouraged us to be grateful. ❤️

  2. Amen 🙏🏽. He does not change and we can rely on the Lord always. And looking back to see how the Lord worked and was present in each and every situation always serves to strengthen my faith with what I am going through now. Thank you for sharing Dawn, this was a beautiful post 🙏🏽💐💙

    1. You’re welcome Manu! I have found looking back to be so helpful in my walk with Jesus. It really helps to strengthen my faith too. Sometimes when I get anxious, I love how He gently reminds me to look back at what He’s done and keep moving forward in trust. Thanks and enjoy your week! ❤️
