Wishing a Happy Father’s Day to all the dads! May your day be blessed, relaxing and enjoyable. Thanks for all you do.

Last month marked 23 years ago that my Dad, James, passed away but I am thankful for his love and his hard work. This weekend some of my Dad’s family members are in town (his older sister and her children/grandchildren) so it has been nice hanging out with them and hearing some conversations about my Dad. I miss my Dad, and I am looking forward to seeing him again one day in heaven.

I am especially thankful for the love and care of our Heavenly Father…

2 Corinthians 6:18 NLT, “And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty.”

  1. Praise God for the gift of memory. I’m sorry you did not have more years to enjoy your dad, Dawn. My dad lived to be 94, and was still quite sharp until the last year or so. What a wonderful, attentive, exemplary father he was–a man of faith and integrity.

    1. Wow! 94, that’s wonderful! My dad was only 55 when he passed. Your Dad’s legacy of faith and integrity is a blessing to your family and the many lives He touched. Thank you for sharing Nancy!

  2. A beautiful post, Dawn. I spent the last month of my Dad’s life with him and it was absolutely the most precious time, though absolutely the hardest time. A godly father is a blessing of untold value, isn’t it? Blessings to you!

    1. Thank you Patty. I am glad you were able to be with your Dad and spend that quality time with him during his final days. My mom was mostly with my Dad but when my mom died, I was with her a lot and I agree those were some precious times that I’ll always remember. My Dad accepted Christ later in His life but it was nice to see the positive changes in him. Blessings my friend ❤️
