Don’t Fear People

Proverbs 29:25 NIV, “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.”

Proverbs 29:25 GNT, “It is dangerous to be concerned with what others think of you, but if you trust the LORD, you are safe.”

This verse is an encouragement as we walk with the Lord. Obeying His direction has to be our top priority. If we become concerned with what people think of us, over what God thinks, we will not fulfill our God given purpose. Fear of being rejected by people will lead us away from God’s will. His approval is what counts the most. He will bring the right people, resources, and opportunities into our lives. Following His path brings blessing.

Although obedience to God may pull us away from our comfort zone, we can trust Him to give us what we need. He has promised to reward us when we diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Our faith will grow as we read God’s Word, do God’s Word, and trust God’s Word. (Romans 10:17). He is our Safe Place.

  15. This is such a blessing. We would live below our potentials if we keep holding people’s words above God’s.

    And I can imagine when Abraham was to leave Haran. I am sure some of his folks may have mocked him etc. since he was leaving for a place still not known to him. But he chose God’s words above theirs and we still mention his name till today. His legacy of faith is still what encourages and spurs us.
    God first and everything else will align!.

    This seems like a message for me too. I am so taking a screenshot of it. 🙈

  16. True words. Obedience to God will pull us away from our comfort zone. At my church Saturday morning devotion I shared that fear and deception can cause believers to be conformed to the world without knowing it. That is why we have to be obedient to God.
