Wisdom Is Precious

Proverbs 8:11 NIV, “for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”

Wisdom truly is a precious gift from God. He promised to give it to us when we ask Him for it (James 1:5). Godly wisdom gives us the insight we need to make decisions that will honor God, and keep us on the right path. His wisdom will help guide us through life.

Nothing can compare to the wisdom God gives us. It far exceeds our natural understanding. Godly wisdom allows us to see God’s truth and choose God’s truth in all circumstances. Ask God for wisdom, and trust Him to freely give it to you.

  1. Thank you Dawn. I was just reading “there is a way that seems right to a man,” but Proverbs reminds us that our ways end in death. I am blessed by your timely word. I pray you experience His joy and peace in this time of transition. You are loved with an everlasting love ♥

  2. Amen Dawn. His wisdom is far more valuable than rubies or diamonds. I will only say though that the path to wisdom is not an easy one. I prayed for wisdom when I was in college. Ho boy was I in for it. That prayer has led to many experiences that have been like going through a blazing furnace. I am glad for the wisdom He has given but it certainly cost a great deal.

    1. Oh boy!! I guess when we choose wisdom then we are deciding not to take the easy way out. God’s ways though wise, are not always easy. He takes us on journeys that teach us to be wise. It’s like when we pray for patience…watch out! LOL. Thanks Homer!

  4. I’m tired. I’m ready for a change. James wrote if you need wisdom, ask God and He will give it to you and will not rebuke you for asking.

If we need wisdom. Ask. It’s that simple.

I have found that praying for wisdom is like praying for patience. I find myself up against more difficult decisions to utilize wisdom. In my temperament, I’m afraid I’ll fail agaaaaaaiiiin!

We have an opportunity everyday to walk in the flesh or ask God for wisdom. So, I’m asking God to help me. I’m turning myself to His Word and prayer and I’m asking Him to give me wisdom.

    1. It’s interesting how God answers our prayers sometimes by putting us in situations where we have to practice what we’re praying for. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect lol.

You’re right, everyday we have a choice, God’s way or the worlds. I’m asking Him for wisdom too. Thanks Kim! 😊

    1. That’s a good point. A person who does not walk in integrity would not be able to grab hold of wisdom. I always say, I want to be remembered as a woman who had integrity.
