Thankful for the Family of Believers

1 Peter 5:9, “Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.”

I am thankful for the family of believers that we have because we are able to support and encourage one another in our faith. It is a blessing to have fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who are praying for me and standing on the Word of God just as I am. All of your writings here on WordPress also bring me much inspiration and help my faith to stay strong, thank you for sharing your heart through your blog posts and comments. I pray we would all continue to stand firm against the tricks of the enemy and be strong in our faith in God.

Dear Father,

Thank you for the family of believers here on WordPress and around the world. Keep us in your perfect peace as we keep our minds fixed on you. No matter what we may be facing, help us to stand firm against the enemy and be strong in our faith. Help us to be quick to call out to you for help in times of need. You are our ever present help in times of trouble and thank you for hearing our prayers.

In the name of Jesus. Amen.

God, Is By Your Side

Joshua 1:5, “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.”

The simple truth that God is always with us allows us to keep persevering day by day. When He is on our side, who can stand against us? We all face numerous obstacles, but His love and strength carry us through. It’s difficult because we don’t always understand why things happen or what is happening, but we know He is directing our steps as we trust Him. He will somehow make a way and cause all things to work out for our good because we love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

I have been in awe at God’s perfect timing in my life. First, going all the way back to when I left Florida, in November 2019, and about two months later, the pandemic started. But He allowed me to relocate here to Virginia and start working in February 2020, just in time plus I was able to be closer to my mom and help her out. Second, He lead me to start graduate school in May 2020 and now I just completed my program a week ago, this was the perfect time to finish up school so I can have extra time to focus on other things. Third, this past April, the Lord blessed me with a new home and He allowed it to be in the perfect location. My goal is to turn the house into a rental one day, and help someone else have an affordable home. Fourth, in June, I ended up with two blood clots but God allowed them to be treated before further damage could occur. Plus my daughter returned home from Spain, a week later, which was perfect timing so she could help me and my mom, who has had many health challenges, over the last couple of years especially. Fifth, just this past week, I had a medical procedure done which I am currently recuperating from. And prayerfully it will bring me much relief from an issue I have had for awhile. And lastly, I am also thankful that my daughter just landed a new job after being back in the states less than two months.

Through all of these things, God has remained faithful. He has never left my side and I pray you remember that He will never leave yours. As we endure the trials of this life, our faith gets stronger and we come to better understand who God is and how He works. When He is on our side, who can stand against us?

Rely on the Lord

Psalm 121:2, “My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

The help the Lord gives us is invaluable. We can call on Him for help at anytime for anything. He is always available. Our job is to remain humble so that we are willing to ask Him for help. He will even helps us with the small things that we may feel pressured to try and figure out on our own.

He is our Source, who is unlimited in all things. He has the resources we need and He can put us in touch with the right people at the right time. We can only go so far in our own strength, but with God’s strength we can accomplish more than we ever imagined as Ephesians 3:20 tell us. Are you relying on your own strength? Do you struggle to ask God for help?

I pray that God would help us to see ways that we need to rely on Him more so that through His power working in us, we can be all He has called us to be.

God Hears Your Cry

Psalm 40:1-2, ”I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”

There is so much encouragement in these verses. First, we are told to wait patiently. Of course waiting is not always easy, especially when we feel we need answers right away. However, God is never late. When He requires us to wait, we can rest knowing He will do what is best for us at the right time.

Second, God hears our cries for help. He not only hears, but he actually turns to us. We serve a God of compassion, who understands our worries and needs. It’s amazing that He cares enough to turn to us and listen to us.

Third, he lifts us up from the pit and sets us on a firm foundation. The pit is a place of hurt, pain, sorrow, depression, the list can go on. But God lifts us up to a place of joy, purpose, peace, and abundance. And of course the list of good things in Jesus go on and on, even into eternity, because He is good. Look up to the God who will lift you up.

1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 9 tells us, no eye has seen and no ear has heard and no mind has imagined, what God has in store for those who love him. Never forget, God hears your cry.

Always The Same

Hebrews 13:8 N.I.V, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Aren’t you thankful that Jesus never changes? He remains the same. Yesterday, today, and forever, He loves us just the same. Sometimes we have bad days, sometimes we have good days. Some days our faith is strong, while other days we feel doubtful. But no matter where we are spiritually or what we feel, He remains the same. Through the ups and downs of life, He never waivers. People change, the world around us changes, but Jesus Christ our Lord, is forever faithful.

We can rejoice and be thankful that Jesus Christ, our solid rock, is always the same.

Keep Praising God

Psalm 145:1 NLT, “I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever.”

Our God and King deserves our praise forever and ever! It brings great joy to give praises to the Lord. No matter what we are going through, we can give Him praise. Praise takes our focus off of ourselves, and the troubles of this world and places it on our Lord and allows us to remember His sovereignty and greatness! Keep giving God your highest praise! Keep exalting His holy name.

Give Where It Counts

Ecclesiastes 3:6 AMP, “A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away.”

Sometimes in life, without even noticing, we can get caught up in giving our thoughts, time, and energy to people or things that are not doing us any good. We must make sure that the things and people we are giving our attention to are the things and people God wants us to give our attention to. We do not want to waste out thoughts, time, and energy in areas that are not God’s will for us.

Perhaps there are relationships that are no longer of value, but you still hang on to them. Or maybe it’s a job that God is leading you to leave, but you’re comfortable going there so you refuse to move on. Or there could be some other area of your life that is not producing fruit, but you keep on giving to it because you do not want to it let go.

Understanding what areas of our lives need to change, is a process God can help us through. He will give us clarity if we ask Him and listen to what He says. Letting go of the old and embracing the new can be scary, but it can also be rewarding.

God is faithful to supply our needs when we embark on new journeys out of obedience to Him. We should ask Him to help us to Give Where It Counts and trust Him for a meaningful outcome that will make a difference in our lives and the lives of others.
