Twelve Blessings That You Can Tap Into

Living in God’s Goodness

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

The words, “I will remain confident,” are an inspiration to keep walking in confidence regardless of the circumstances we are facing. The Psalmist chose to remain confident. Remaining confident in God’s goodness is a daily choice that we must make. His goodness is there even in the toughest of times because He has promised to work all things together for our good, when we love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)

God wants good things for His children, and He even promised us that His goodness and mercy would follow us all the days of our lives (Psalm 23:6). When we are tempted to question God’s goodness, prayerfully, we will remember that although we may not understand the details of what we are going through, we will find comfort and peace in His promise to bring goodness into our lives here on Earth. His love for us endures forever (Psalm 136:1).

What Are You Thinking?

Philippians 2:5 KJB, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

This tells us that we are to have the mind of Christ. His way of thinking should always be our standard. When we think like Jesus, it will keep us safe from the enemy’s wicked schemes. Because the enemy is always trying to temp us and lead us away from the will of God.

By operating in the mind of Christ, we will walk in wisdom. We will also walk in love and kindness toward others. This verse reminds me of that popular acronym from some years ago, WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?). It does not hurt to ask ourselves this question so we can make sure our thinking is in sync with His. When we think like Jesus, we will act like Jesus, and our lives will bring Him glory.

Wisdom Yields Patience

Proverbs 19:11 NIV, ”A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.”

With the stress of today’s world, we are presented with opportunities to be offended on a regular basis. This verse, challenges us to overlook offenses; however, it is wisdom that will help us to know how to handle a situation. Sometimes we have to confront people, but other times it is wise to patiently extend mercy and let go.

The Holy Spirit will guide us into truth regarding the circumstances surrounding our situations. We need to have the right timing and the right words when addressing someone who has offended us. It is always wise to pray and think before we act and speak.

The Upward Call in Christ Jesus

Philippians 3:13-14 ESV, “13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

There have been times in my life, I have thought about the past and wished I could do certain things over again. However, during those moments, I had to remind myself that God is faithful to forgive and that His plans are perfect.

I am sure we have all learned many valuable lessons from our past. With those many lessons have come both positive and negative experiences. Regardless of our past, Paul is encouraging us to keep moving forward.

We can not allow our past experiences to hinder us from doing what we need to do, now or in the future. Our past is part of our story, and our story can be used by God to help others. He knows our stories from beginning to end. We have to trust God to work all things, good and bad, together for good in our lives (Romans 8:28).

Everyday, God is calling you upward in Christ Jesus, so keep pressing toward the goal!
