What flows from your heart?

Proverbs 4:23 NIV, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Our hearts are like sponges, absorbing everything our eyes and ears take in. Therefore, we must be careful! We must be careful to guard what we allow our eyes to see, and our ears to hear. Our hearts reflect what we believe, how we think, they reveal exactly who we are.

Hiding God’s Word in our hearts by meditating on it day and night, will keep our hearts pure and distance us from temptation and sin. We can always check on the condition of our hearts by comparing it to the truth of God’s Word. May our hearts reflect the love and light of Jesus in all we say and do.

  1. Yesterday at church we had our pastor talk about what we are listening to and with your word today that our hearts are like sponges absorbing all that our eyes and ears take in. I feel like God is reiterating His point here. It makes me take notice.
    Blessings Dawn.

  2. We need to open our hearts to God’s Word and direction, and to spread His love. Dawn, I agree, “May our hearts reflect the love and light of Jesus in all we say and do.” Blessings! 🌺

  3. Amen. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. I agree with you in prayer that we will allow the Word of God to be the good treasure in our hearts to bring forth only good. Thank you, Dawn. This is a powerful reminder.
