Trust God, Embrace Change

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I have been thinking a lot lately about how the Lord sometimes brings change into our lives to bless us. Change allows us to experience new things. I came across this post by Vivian, “Step Into The Unknown”, it was an inspiring reminder not to be afraid to go where God is leading you. When things change, we can trust God to use the changes to work out what is best for us. It is part of His plan. Change can be scary at first, but knowing God is with us as we go through the change brings peace and joy.

Change can lead to the desires of our heart that we have been praying for. At times, God answers our prayers in unexpected ways. Life’s greatest adventures sometimes come when we are willing to make changes, some big and some small. Trust God and embrace change.

  1. Thank you for this reminder, Dawn. I sure needed it! My life has seen a lot of changes in the past few months. I am trying to trust Him and cling to Him, but some days are harder than others. Thank you and God bless! ❤️

  2. Amen Dawn! We praise God for change for it shakes us out of our slumber. When we face the unknown we can lean our whole being on God and find that He indeed will lead, and provide. Our trust in Jesus will grow exponentially. If we do this not only will have our circumstances changed but we’ll find our character changes as well; for the better.

  3. Change is never easy. But when we allow God to lead and guide through that change it can bring a whole new experience to it. Although I know this, i still do not like change and have to be intentional of trusting God through it.
Thank you for this reminder Dawn 💙

    1. Thanks Manu. It is not easy. You’re right about having to be intentional because we like comfort and change means we may have to be uncomfortable. You’re welcome ❤️

  5. I, myself, believe that Christ was/is intended in large part to show humankind what Messiah ought to and needs to be; to prove to people that there really was/is hope for the many — especially for young people living in today’s physical, mental and spiritual turmoil — perceiving hopelessness in an otherwise fire-and-brimstone angry-God-condemnation creator. Fundamentally, of course, that definitely includes resurrection.

I feel that too many have, unfortunately, created God’s nature in their own angry and vengeful image, especially the part insisting that God hates this or that. Often being the most vocal, they make very bad examples of Christ’s true message, especially to the young and impressionable. A believer in Christ, I can imagine many even finding inconvenient or annoying trying to reconcile the conspicuous inconsistency in the fundamental nature of the New Testament’s Jesus with the wrathful, vengeful and even jealous nature of the Old Testament’s Creator. (Really, why couldn’t Jesus have been one who’d enjoy a belly-shaking laugh over a good joke with his disciples, now and then?)

I sometimes wonder whether the general human need for retributive justice can be intrinsically linked to the same terribly flawed aspect of humankind that enables the most horrible acts of violent cruelty to readily occur on this planet, perhaps not all of which we learn about.

Blessings!

  7. Amen. Dawn, this topic is worth reading as a regular reminder of the role God plays in our lives. Life fills with those occasional moments when we are navigating uncharted waters. We need to remain steadfast in trusting Him as we embrace the change lying ahead. Vivian’s post was a worthy one to share. Blessings.
