Afraid? Trust in God.

Psalm 56:3 NIV, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

Fear can creep in, even when we least expect it. It not only steals our joy, but it hinders our progress in our walk with God. Fear is always in opposition with the goals we are trying to reach or the purposes we are trying to fulfill. It tries to keep us from believing that we can do all things through Christ Jesus, who is our strength (Philippians 4:13).

Rather we are taking a step of faith and doing something new, confronting someone about a serious issue that needs to be resolved, or some other situation we are facing, God will help us. The Lord will not forsake those who seek Him and put their trust in Him (Psalm 9:10); so when you are afraid, put your trust in God.

  1. Good morning Dawn. This is such wonderful advice. I am a worrier and I really don’t like that about myself but I am trying to be better. I know that God has got my back and that he loves me in a way that I will never comprehend and yet I still worry about things I have no control over. My husband helps me by reminding me that worrying doesn’t add a minute to my day. Thank you for this very important message my sister. During these difficult times we just need to give our faith and lean on God. Thank you and hope you have an amazing week. Love to you Joni

  2. Fear can control us in more ways than we expect. It is only through the Lord that I can get through it.
I would be a mess without God when it comes to not worrying about something.
    Blessings Dawn 💙

  3. Praise the Lord! True words. Fear comes in all form of disguises. All my life I battle with fear and everytime it attacked me it came in a different form. Therefore, anytime I am facing a difficult situation and I do not know how to pray I just begin to rebuke the spirit of fear. Afterwards I usually see things clearly. Thank you, Dawn for this great reminder. I shared your post on my church WhatsApp group.

  5. Very timely and encouraging, Dawn. There is so much to fear in these days. Sometimes I have to reign in my thoughts and remember that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. Bless you for speaking truth in our lives.

  6. A graceful reminder, sis. ❤
Trust is really what we should engage the more in these times. When our posture is faith, we give no room for fear and worry. God has been grooming me in this and it’s been a journey filled with grace. Our strength lies in trusting Him.

  7. I can remember, a few times, when praying, the answer coming, not always as I expected, and sometimes years or decades later. Our God is always watching.

    1. So true. Sometimes it takes awhile to see the answers to our prayers and God moves in unexpected ways. I love Romans 8:28 that reminds us, He is working things out for our good. Thank you for sharing!
