Live Wisely

Colossians 4:5 NLT, “Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.”

This verse reminds us that as Christians our actions are on display. Non-believers are watching us to see if we live as we profess. God gives us daily opportunities to respond to those around us in love. He will give us the wisdom we need to live wisely and have an impact. He will give us the words to say when needed, words that will speak life and truth to those who are hurting.

It’s important for us to make the most of our opportunities, especially with the upheaval that is going on in our world today. The injustices and discrimination we see are not beyond God’s power. He sees all and knows all. Many feel hopeless, but through Jesus we can help bring hope. It is a privilege as a Christian to have the Spirit of God live through us and use us to do good.

Persist in prayer because prayer changes things. Persist in love because love never fails.

  1. The leader of our connect group at church always reminded us to be on our best behavior because every time a non-believer walks in the door they’re watching us like hawks just waiting for us to mess up. That way they had a reason to stay in their unbelief. I think it’s really important to pay close attention to our actions, but even more important, we should want to behave like Jesus.

    1. That is so true. Many use bad behavior from Christians as a reason not to belief. We must be careful and prayerful concerning our actions. Thanks Michelle!

    1. Trusting God is so important to survive this world. I’m doing good and I feel good. I try and take a walk after work. It helps to stay in good spirits with all that is going on. It’s also a great time to reflect and pray. How are you doing?

  2. I totally agree with you, Dawn. Persistence in prayer and love. “Love covers a multitude of sins.” That verse is most times misquoted and misunderstood, but when you think of God as love you will understand immediately. It is the love and peace of God that will change the problems in this world. May we contiue to pray. Peace!

  3. So true that is why it is so important to read the Bible. The word of God teaches us how to live among people and shine as a light. We should speak in faith so the hopeless can see that we have a hope that is secure in Jesus Christ.
