Trust With All Of Your Heart

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

No matter how familiar this verse is to us, it will never lose its essence. As we trust in the Lord, He promises to make our paths straight. Even if we feel lost, we aren’t, because as long as we are trusting in Jesus and acknowledging Him in all of our ways, we know He is directing our paths. Every twist and turn we encounter is part of His divine plan. We don’t even have to understand everything, all we have to do is trust Him.

Submit every worry and uncertainty to the Lord in prayer and trust Him to work out what is best for you. Even if things don’t go exactly like you thought it would, still choose to trust God. Some of our greatest joys will come from allowing the Lord to lead us into unknown territory. When we are depending solely on the Lord for guidance and provision, we will grow in our faith in Him, grow in our relationship with Him, and we will experience His abundant blessings like never before.

I pray the Lord will continue to empower you to trust in Him with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, and acknowledge Him in all of your ways.

  1. Thank you for this reminder Dawn. Even though this verse is so familiar we need to be often reminded to lean not on our own understanding. Something we are so inclined to do and have to consciously remind ourselves to completely let God lead us.

  2. Amen. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to let go and let God even though it’s so obvious. It’s pride that often gets in the way of giving our problems and worries to God. Thinking I can handle my problems is where I go wrong from time to time. What a timely post. Thank you and God Bless.

    1. You made a great point! Pride is many times the root cause of us not wanting to surrender to the Lord. We have to learn day by day to trust Him above all else. Thanks Brian for your insight!

  3. Praise the Lord. You are so right that this verse can never lose its essence. It always rings fresh in your mind whenever you read it.

Just before reading your post I was correcting my son’s application letter for a scholarship. He wants to study aeronautics and he just got accepted in Embry Riddle. He wants to be a pilot with all his heart and soul, but it seems as if everything is against him.

We have no money plus he has health challenges. As I read his letter tears came to my eyes because I cannot see how it is possible.

Then I read your post and it said trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

Tell me, isn’t that a direct message from God to me! I do not have to know the answers I just need to trust God.

Dawn, I praise God for you and for allowing God to use you to be a blessing to me and others on this beautiful WordPress media. God bless you.

    1. Now I have tears in my eyes reading what you wrote! 🥰 I’m so thankful this helped and thankful that the words in Proverbs are completely true and we can trust completely in the Lord.

I will be praying your son’s scholarship is approved. My daughter had a scholarship to her school in Florida which is the only reason we moved there. I had no money for her college but God provided the scholarship. God will open doors wide for His children. Keep trusting Him Beverley! 🙏🏿

      1. Yes, my dear. So glad to hear that your daughter was blessed with a scholarship to accomplish her career. God is a provider and I am trusting in the Lord for His provison. He said He will be a Father to the fatherles.

For the entire day yesterday until now I keep repeating that verse when doubt crept up in my mind. I pray that you will have a blessed weekend.

  4. This is so good! They’re some of my favorite verses. Standing on this verse strengthened me to move to NY with only $100 to my name. These verses have brought debt-freedom to my family; as well as abundance from God. I just praise Him! He is our Shepard, Provider, Protector and everything else. Whole-Hearted Turst is a requirement for His leadership and direction in our lives.

  5. God has been pushing me in directions lately that I have been hesitant to pursue. I am learning to step out of my comfort zone to trust God to provide me with the needed skills and gifts, to direct my path, to do His work.

  6. Amen! Trusting in God for everything and through it all is a tremendous gift He gives us; a resource that I need to tap into more often. I believe you hit on the key issue: trust without full understanding. In a world where self-assurance is so greatly prized, human pride blocks the ability to know what trust and reliance on what God truly is. I pray what you have written will open more hearts (like mine!) to the infinite care the Lord brings us.
    Blessings,

  7. These verses are life!. Trusting God is so so so important. The eventuality of us yielding as He guides us is far more than the pain we may have felt on the onset!.
It pays to stay with God all through the process! He does always knows more than we do!
