  1. Thanks for sharing Dawn!

We often share about the love of God but don’t explain why He allows suffering. A scholar by the name of C.S. Lewis state, it is the most potent weapon against the Christian faith. Our intellect and our notions of “fairness” can’t comprehend the contradiction between a loving God and a world of suffering. The only way to understand is to read the Bible. Adam disobeyed God by eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil thus sin entered the world (Genesis 3).

Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again on the third day and reclaimed what Satan stole in the garden and provided a way to redemption for all mankind (Hebrews 2:14-15).

God takes no pleasure in the suffering of His children (2 Peter 3:9). He is patient, merciful and loving, working things out for our good (Romans 8:28). His only goal is to reconcile us to Himself. The good news is that God loves us so much that he provided a way of salvation through the suffering and death of His Son, Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 5:8 & John 3:16). Suffering is enviable, it’s our choice whether to accept Christ so that we may have eternal life or reject Him. I rather go through with God than to “go through” without Him because either way I will have to go through.

    1. Thanks Kim! What great points you made. God does have a main goal of reconciling mankind to Himself. Life changes when we view things through the eyes of eternity. I agree…I’d rather go through with Him than without!! 😊
