Let Everything Praise The Lord

Psalm 150:6 NIV, “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.”

For some reason, when I read this verse, the first thing that came to my mind was butterflies. I wanted to know how they breathe. Per http://www.butterflywebsite.com, “Adult butterflies, as well as caterpillars, breathe through a series of tiny openings along the sides of their bodies, called “spiracles.” From each spiracle, a tube called a “trachea” carries oxygen into the body.”

We, along with butterflies, have breath in our bodies. We were created to give praise to our God. I heard someone once say that, “Praise is our way in, but it’s also our way out.” No matter where we find ourselves, praise will always lift us higher. It reminds us of God’s authority and greatness. It also reminds us of our purpose and puts things into perspective for us.

Everything we say and do should glorify and honor the Lord Jesus Christ, and give Him praise! Let everything that has breathe praise the Lord!

    1. They are truly beautiful! A couple of years ago I visit a botanical garden that had exotic butterflies from around the world. They had to be confined to the habitat they built for them otherwise they couldn’t survive. It was interesting. Blessings and love to you Brenda! 🦋💕

  1. Praising God is the best thing to do. When I sing to God, I feel immense joy when I sing praises to God. He alone deserves all the praises. And your post reminds me of a song by J. Moss There’s a praise on the inside that I can’t keep to myself, a holler stirring up from the depths of my soul…so excuse me if I seem a little giddy or maybe even strange, but praise is the way I say THANKS. Everything God created is beautiful, and we are all created to praise Him. Beautiful post as always <3.

  2. “Praise is our way in, but it’s also our way out.” I love that!

Praise is our weapon for spiritual warfare. The scripture says let praise be in your mouth like a double edge sword. This sounds oxymoronic to us. Praise and warfare seem worlds apart in our minds. But when we praise God despite the circumstance we come out victorious.

  3. Beautiful post, Dawn. Technically I’m still on a blogging break for a while yet, but I caved to read some posts because I am feeling too isolated. I really enjoyed reading your post. Butterflies were on my mind too as I sat out in our yard one day and just watched and listened. It sparked a poem! Actually I’ve been writing a lot of poetry on my break. My break is too quiet. I needed some noise (good noise…a joyful sound) So reading is helping me to fill that silence. 😊 Thanks for sharing your beautiful thoughts.
