Psalm 23:6 KJB, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
This verse is a regular prayer of thanksgiving for me. I find myself telling God often that I’m thankful for His goodness and mercy that follow me all the days of my life. I don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for His goodness and His mercy. The fact that He is good, and has mercy on us is a big part of the reason we are even still here today.
His goodness and mercy is an extension of His great love for us. Remembering how good and merciful God is, is a humbling thought. Because He is so good and merciful to us, we can extend the same thing to other people.
What a joy it is to know that the Lord’s goodness and mercy is following us everyday. What an honor and a privilege it is to worship the Lord and dwell in His house forever.
I too would not know where I would be if it was not for God’s goodness and mercy.
Blessings ❤️

God’s mercy means we do not get what we deserve. His grace means we get what we do not deserve. I am so thankful for both. I deserved much worse but received much better 🙂

Thank you! 😊 ❤ That's so much appreciated. I'll jot your name down on my prayer list too, Dawn. Do you have anything specific you need prayer for at this time?

You’re welcome! Please keep my daughter and I in prayer as she moves to Spain next month and I move to Virginia in November. I appreciate it. Thanks Tina! ❤️

Awe, I’m sure. 😦 I don’t have any children, myself, but it’s always hard on a parent when they’re separated from their kids. It’s hard to let them grow up, huh? Would it be too personal to ask what is drawing her to Spain? Job? Hubby? You don’t have to answer that. I’m trying to get used to being more social on here. Regular conversation (especially when I don’t know someone to well) seriously does not come naturally to me, so my brains kind of going, should I say that? Is that appropriate? 😀

Oh no I don’t mind the questions! I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone too and do more things. That’s great you’re stepping out. 😊 She graduated from college in May, and is going to Spain to teach for at least a year. She’ll help with English. She has a minor degree in Spanish so this will also help her to be more fluent with the language.
It is tough, but I know she has to live her life. I just pray God keeps her safe. Do you hope to have kids someday?

Oh wow, that’s a wonderful opportunity for her!
Actually, we can’t have any children. Everyone assumes it’s me that’s unable to have children, but actually it’s my husband. (Well, we are one, so it’s both of us) However, he was born with this, uh, defect? We found out after the first year of marriage, when we decided to try to start a family. Maybe we would have adopted, but we also came into money problems and health problems. God definitely had other plans for us. We do, however, have three boys in California (young men now) that adopted Andrew as a dad through his online gaming. Their dad left when they were really young. Andrew made an impact on them, and the next thing he knew they were asking if they could call him dad. There mother, amazingly, thought this was great because she’d been praying for a strong male role model for her boys, but she wasn’t looking for a relationship. I’m sure she must have kept an eye on what Andrew was saying to them.
We still get messages and sometimes phone calls from them, and we hope to meet them all one day. So, yeah, sometimes God gives you family in a different way. 😊

Thanks for sharing. You’re so right, God definitely has other plans than what we sometimes except. Although you can’t have kids of your own, it’s great Andrew can be a role model to those young men. There are so many young people out there who need role models.
I always thought when I was younger I would be married with 3 or 4 kids. But I’m divorced with 1, and was never married to my daughter’s father. So life can take unexpected turns, but thankfully God knows the purpose He has for us all. I hope you and Andrew get to meet the young men!! 😊

Yes, it sure can. Andrew and I have experienced our fair share of unexpected turns, but God has been good to see us through all of them, and even bless it. I hope Andrew and I get to meet them this side of heaven too. 😊 It was really nice getting to know a little more about you, Dawn. ❤

You have me humming a chorus we used to sing in church, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days, all the days of my life. And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. And I shall feast at the table prepared for me. ” There’s more to the chorus, but that’s all I’ll sing for now 🙂 Goodness, mercy, eternal life, and a feast! God is good to us!

Thanks for sharing this sis. ❤Reminds me of the song by Sinach – “your goodness is running after, is running after me…..”
