Exhale In God’s Presence

Exodus 33:14 NIV, “The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Have you ever had days where during your time of prayer, there was so much to talk to the Lord about, that you didn’t even know where to begin? Trying to put everything that was in your heart into words seemed overwhelming. Well I had one of those days recently. Because I had many things I wanted to talk to God about, I wasn’t sure where to begin.

As I entered into prayer, I could sense the Holy Spirit telling me to just be still. Instead of trying to figure out what I’d say first, He lead me to just quietly rest in God’s presence without saying anything. I begin to feel His peace, and my busy mind begin to quiet down. After a few moments of taking time to exhale in God’s presence, my prayers to Him begin to flow.

I’ve been learning to take time out to allow the Holy Spirit to encourage me. He is always ready to fill us with whatever we need. Rather it’s a scripture He brings to our memory, His comfort when we are hurting, His peace when we are anxious, or His wisdom for decisions we must make.

The struggles we face, rather financial, mental, emotional, or even physical are not too great for our Lord. We can depend on Him to supply what we need. When we feel as if our resources are limited, we must look to Him. He is an abundant God. He has ways of getting us what we need. He can bring the right people and opportunities into our lives. His resources will never run out.

We will never have all the answers to life’s questions. There are many things we will go through that will seem unfair. The weight of life is too heavy for us to carry it on our own. But God’s grace is sufficient for us. Take time each day, to exhale in God’s presence. He is able to carry you.

  2. Inhaling in God’s presence for me by listening to worship music, praying, meditating on his Word, and listening to the Holy Spirit, makes all the difference for me as I live with chronic illness and reach out to the nations living in my city. 🙂

  3. Quite an amazing approach to prayer.Reminds me when I used to go to God with a to-do list till the Holy Spirit revealed to me that God knows our heart’s desires,He knows what we want to say before we even say it…But we are weak and always in need.So God gave us provision to ask…He goes ahead to remind us not to worry ourselves about anything for God knows all our needs, rather to seek first God’s Kingdom and righteousness first then all these shall be added unto us….Quite amazing,to seek God is to love Him and want everything of Him,just like when dating a woman you want to just love them and be concerned about them…God wants us to just love on Him and seek Him always,be intimate with Him.So I was led to just give thanks and praise to His holiness and I must admit the peace that comes with just loving and seeking Him even while in prayer is overwhelming!

    1. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts! There is no need to worry at all. Resting in Him, is a reminder of that. As you mentioned we should seek Him above all else. Having a heart of praise and thanksgiving draws us closer to Him. ❤️

  4. Dawn, that was such a beautiful experience in the presence of God. Just exhale in His presence. Sometimes our hearts are full and overburden and we just want to let it out. But, God knows our hearts and He cares. Have a great day.

  5. Girl! Wow! Exhaling even now…
Thank you for reminding us that in His presence, it is okay to breathe, to relax, to be still, to let it all out and just listen.
“The struggles we face, rather financial, mental, emotional, or even physical are not too great for our Lord.” This you have said is so true, and even if we combine all of these struggles onto one plate, our God can handle it all.

    1. Thanks Michelle! It does seem those days show up unexpectedly sometimes. Being quiet can be tough when we feel anxious, but I’m thankful He helps us through it. 💕
