Hidden Safely With Christ

Colossians 3:2-3 NIV, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”

I’ve been meditating on these verses over the last couple of days. They remind me that my priority should be on eternal things. Earthly things should not take precedence over the things that matter most to the Lord.

It can definitely be a challenge trying to stay focused on what matters most to the Lord. The responsibilities we have in our personal lives, along with the allure of the world, make it difficult to set our minds on things above. It’s like we’re in a constant game of tug of war. Although we want to do what is right, we sometimes choose what is easy instead. Following Jesus is not usually an easy path. Staying committed to Him takes perseverance.

Placing our focus on Jesus, will help us to have a better understanding of what it means to diligently seek God. We will see life and people from His perspective. There will be many impostors throughout our journey, but when our minds are set on Him, we won’t be fooled by a counterfeit.

Our lives are hidden with Christ in God. The covering that the Father has over us, will protect us. The Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. Don’t be discouraged. When things get tough, look up to Jesus! He is an ever present help in times of trouble.

  1. Amen sister! Wonderful post! I always look to Jesus not only in troubled times but all the time. I keep him near each an everyday because this is a cruel world… so much is happening in this world that’s why I’m a follower of Jesus Christ. You right it’s hard sometimes but you have to remain focus on him… Thanks once again sis for this post… ❤️🙏❤️

  2. Being hidden? Where, in Christ!
What a lovely place to find ourselves big sis. I think of the hymn, “He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock” and am so grateful that He’s the One who does the hiding and I never need be afraid of the enemy or the prowlers because once I’m hidden in Him, no one can ever find my without going through Him or getting His permission. Hallelujah!

  3. Good word Dawn. My prayer is to be “hid in Christ” such that those around me see more of Him and less of me. I love the reality that because we experience the Authentic love of Christ, that which is false stands out in direct contrast. Blessings to you ♥

  4. Apt!. That drew me to the Bible verse I read this morning during my time out – the verse 3

Didn’t know it was a pre-boost to what was upcoming. I had to draw strength from it much later into the day when I was faced with a situation that I felt so down with. And it was just the needful to set me right back.

    God is amazing!

    Thanks for sharing this sis.
