Living Each Day By Faith

2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV, “For we live by faith, not by sight.”

Although living by faith as a Christian is a unique privilege, it’s not always an easy thing to do. A life lived in faith is good because we don’t have to be limited by what we see. We can trust God for more. We can believe Him to move in situations that are beyond our control and understanding. At times it’s hard because in our humanness, we desire to know all the answers. We want to be able to figure everything out and have all the details.

Lately I have had to remind myself that I don’t have to have all the answers, because God does. We can only do what He has given us the ability to do. We can only know what He has allowed us to know. Then, we have to be brave enough to live by faith and leave the rest to Him.

I have learned that living by faith means we have to take life one day at a time. We have to trust God to provide our needs each day. Worry always sets in when we become consumed with trying to figure out the details of the future.

There have been many times I have allowed myself to worry about something, only to find out later, that God had already worked everything out for my good. I wasted time and energy worrying. Remembering our Heavenly Father’s good deeds, will strengthen us to keep trusting Him in the future. Jesus lived by faith, and our Heavenly Father has called us to do the same. He makes no mistakes and will always do what is best for us.

Deuteronomy 32:4 NIV, “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”

  1. You are so right Dawn, it takes courage to live by faith. I’ve heard others say that “the faith life is for wimps,” that’s definitely not my experience. Getting in touch with doing things in my own strength, helps me to turn to Him. After all, He’s the only One who has the answers we need. Blessings ♥

    1. Oh boy! I agree with you, being a true committed Christian is definitely NOT for wimps. It’s takes perseverance, which God gives us by His grace. I recently read a quote that said when we are in a place where we don’t know what else to do then we are in the right place to see God work in our lives. (I’m paraphrasing but that was the basics of it). Blessings Jacquie! 💕

  2. Amen to this post and the comments big sis! It is so reassuring to know we are not the only ones walking by faith, there is a body of likeminded believers also in the journey too. It is even more reassuring to know that we as you reminded us, do not have to know – our Father does – and that is truly enough.

    1. True! I’m so thankful for the body of believers. This scripture comes to my mind…1 Peter 5:7 NLT, “Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.” Thanks lil sis ❤️

    1. Thanks Sherita! He is definitely in control. We must look to Him. Faith is not easy but the reward is seeing the power and faithfulness of the God we serve. He rewards those of us who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

  4. Hey Dawn, love this honest and humbled post! When I read your first sentence, I knew right off that I connected with your heart – struggling to FEEL sure when following Christ. Not judging others, I sometimes wonder about Christians who see following Christ as a totally peaceful walk in the world? Looking back at each of our days in faith, we’ll surely find His peace – which only He knew to give us at the time, even as we struggled and found it hard to understand. The treasure is in our hearts, where God know us who strive to be like Jesus…a place the outward world can never really know. I’m so thankful and enjoy reading your posts.

    1. Thanks so much Jeremy! I’m glad you can understand where I’m coming from. The faith walk is not easy when you’ve decided to diligently seek the Lord. Things become “less peaceful” in terms of the enemy trying to come against us. But God gives us His peace as we go through the tough times. I agree, God knows what is in our hearts as we strive to know Him better. Thanks again, I appreciate your comments. 😊

  5. Hello my sister! I too had to recognize this! Even though we know that he is in control it’s hard to let go and let him lead at times. Your testimony is inspiring because you share perseverance and strength! What inspires you to continue to allow him to lead in your life?

    1. Thanks sister Chauntel! I’m thankful you found this inspiring. I’m inspired to let God lead because I realize through His Word that He is our only True Hope. The world is getting worse everyday. But knowing He is all wise, all powerful, and that He sees all makes me want to follow Him and allow Him to protect me. What inspires you to allow God to lead in your life?
