Ask God for Wisdom

James 1:5 NIV, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

It’s important to ask the Lord wisdom. As we navigate through life, we need Him to give us knowledge, instruction, and understanding. We are constantly being presented with choices, and we need Him to show us what is best for our lives. He can see all of our days, from beginning to end.

It’s a blessing that He doesn’t leave us alone to just try and figure it all out. Instead He has given us His Holy Spirit to guide us and teach us. Ask the Lord for wisdom, and trust Him to direct your paths daily.

  1. This ties into the passage preached at church this weekend from Romans 11:33-36
“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.”

      1. Dawn I totally agree. When I pray I make sure I ask him to give me wisdom, knowledge and to teach me the right way and to guide me when he sees me going in the wrong direction… so yes wisdom is much needed.. 😊

  2. The beautiful thing about asking for wisdom is God’s manner of granting the request: He’ll give it bountifully and won’t find fault while at it. Grateful for being endowed with God’s unending and boundless wisdom.
