Be Still And Know

Being still is not usually something that is heavily promoted nowadays. We have to be intentional about deciding to be still. It’s such a privilege to be able to let go and trust God. He will take care of our needs.

Psalm 46:10 NIV, “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

This verse always gives me comfort, because it calls us to rest and let God be God. It encourages us to just exhale, and relinquish our concerns and troubles to Him.

Things get hectic at times. We won’t always have everything figured out. We won’t always know why certain things happen or why some people do the things they do. But we don’t have to.

We can just be still in the midst of it all and know that He is God. Since He is God, we don’t have to worry. His love will cover us and protect us, and His eyes will faithfully watch over us day and night.

Take time out each day to be still, and listen as God speaks to your heart.

  2. Thanks Dawn. What a timely blessing this article is for me. This morning while I lay still, I heard in my mind the scripture: Be still and know that I am God. I needed to read and embrace this today.

How often do we ask God for everything, but we don’t stop to listen or to be still? The act of being still and getting quiet becomes more of a challenge in our hectic world. The world asks us to be busy. God asks us to be still so that we can receive love, peace and guidance. We need to put ourselves in a place and position where we can hear God most clearly.

Along with busyness comes the fearful and anxious thoughts we hold onto. Thanks again my sister. Blessings on the work you are doing.

    1. You’re welcome Fay. I’m glad this message was timely for you. What a beautiful thing God spoke to you first thing in the morning, even while you were still laying down!

I think He is sometimes speaking more than we realize because of our busyness. So yeah we have to intentionally listen for His voice throughout the day and set aside special times of solitude.

I’m learning to do this more and more. Thanks for sharing 💕
