Thinking About Faith

I was out walking yesterday morning and I was thinking about faith. I was thinking specifically about the rest of this year. I guess like many of you, there are things I am believing God for. Even though I don’t yet have all the details of how things will work out, I’m learning to leave things in God’s hands. I’m noticing that by diligently communicating with the Lord my faith is growing stronger. Sharing all my concerns with Him, while professing His sovereignty over my situation, is bringing me to a place of peace.

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Peace is what God wants for you and me. He knows that we can only achieve peace, by giving our worries over to Him. We must trust Him to take care of us, because He promised us that He will.

  1. This is what I’m learning to do as well, Dawn – trusting in God’s promises. I’m giving up trying and relying on believing.

I love the picture you chose for this post … so beautiful in its simplicity. 🙂

  2. Thanks for reminding us Dawn that faith comes through “pressing” and “waiting”. I love what you said about being a recipient of God’s peace the more you pray and turn it all over to Him. It reminds me of that old hymn, “oh what peace we often forefeit, oh what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer.” Blessings to you beloved! Let’s keep trusting Abba.

      1. Oh Dawn! The reminders and inspiration we consistently get from each other are reminders of how dear our Daddy loves us. I agree, there are no coincidences. Let’s keep the “iron sharpening” going ❤️❤️

  3. Absolutely Dawn. I started to surrender to His will about 15 years back and it has worked wonders. I give my intent and tell Him that it should happen only if it is for the highest good of all and if it His will. Let Thy will be done not Mine 🙏 and this works for me so well.
    Stay blessed and anchored Dawn.

  4. Dawn how lovely that you diligently communicate with the Lord!! That communication keeps us sane and our faith strong.
I challenge us Dawn to spend more time just admiring YahWeh’s strength and power of His Name… He will take our faith in higher places… as the Lord’s Prayer says, “HALLOWED BE THY NAME”💜

    1. I enjoy my Saturday prayer walks, but during the week it’s more of a challenge to make sure I’m spending that quality time with God. But it’s so worth it when I do. My whole day is better when I start it with prayer. You’re right, He will take us higher as we get to know and admire Him. Thanks so much for your comments. May God bless you too as you seek to know Him more. 💚
